The good news is, that many of
the transportation Companies have increased CDL Driver’s pay.
Along with the increase in pay, we are seeing more frequent Home
time, holiday and vacation pay and various benefits.
The good news/bad news simply put, our industry needs more CDL Driver’s. Companies are working on ways to finding qualified drivers.
the “recruiting side” we see numerous incentives to attract Drivers:
Freight rates have been increasing, which is having a
positive relationship with increased driver pay.
Some of the mileage companies have gone to % of load to their
drivers. (Most all that
have switched to % pay, will still withhold taxes, issue W-2 as usual).
The neat thing about this, the freight rates with the percentage
pay method, generates more revenue than the mileage rate.
